U3A or The University of the Third Age is an international movement.

It is run for people of older age; who are no longer in full time employment,  all you need is interest and enthusiasm.

It is called a university, but it has members, not students.

No qualifications are required, and none are to be gained; learning is for pleasure and can be fun.

Members organise their own activities by drawing on the skills and interests of each other.

By sharing knowledge, experience and enthusiasm members develop their own individual abilities.

The Ems Valley U3A was started in February 2006 and now has over 320 members.

There are currently 30 plus activity groups.

We meet in the Parish Hall, Church Path, Emsworth on the 4th Thursday of each month at 2 p.m.

Each meeting normally includes a talk by an outside speaker, local and national news and events.

New Membership

We were able to offer membership to those on the waiting list at the beginning of April but now we have started a new waiting list which will be reviewed regularly.

In the meantime if anyone wishes to join us, could they please send name and contact details

(via our contact us page). We will contact you when the membership list is open again.

Members are asked to please not bring guests to our monthly meetings

Members should also note that if you want to guarantee a seat (or even entrance) for our monthly meetings then it is important to get there in good time.
